Snowmobile
We've been manufacturing snowmobile mufflers since '93 at which time noise wasn't a big issue. In '04' we
added a quiet trail version to go with our loud "race" muffler. "Race" means loud, not faster. Please check your
local laws and use responsibly.

Technical
With numerous different muffler designs available, most mufflers for internal combustion engines use passive
silencing methods. These muffers fall into two categories, reactive and dissipative mufflers. Reactive mufflers
make use of seperate chambers and defelctors to direct sound back to the source and are generally better at
reducing low frequency sound waves. Dissipative mufflers generally use a straight flow through design with sound
absorbing filler materials scrubbing off sound waves as they pass through. This type of muffler is usually best at
reducing medium to high frequencies.

With that in mind, the optimum muffler would be to combine the two technologies and design a silencer that
cancels a wider range of sound waves. Easier said than done, but after filling a scrap bin full of test mufflers that
didn't meet our requirements, we finally hit on a design that produced the sound levels we wanted throughout the
entire RPM band. Meet the GGB trail Muffler

Performance
Each stock muffler is flow tested extensively to determine factory back-pressure values and then we build each
unit accordingly. On all Two-stroke engines the sleds performance with a GGB muffler will be as good as, or better
than stock. We make no horsepower claims (although there are with some systems) but assure you there will
be no power loss. On all Four-stroke engines there will be significant performance gains with the GGB muffler.



The GGB race muffler is one of the lightest on the market with many models coming in at a mere 3.5lbs. On
some engines this muffler is resonably mellow at low throttle, but will rattle the windows across town when you're
on it. We said on some, most are loud. Each system is a direct fit with no modifications necessary. Check your
local laws and please use responsibly.



Our trail mufflers weigh in at around 6-8 pounds each, with sound levels moderately louder than stock. These
mufflers let you know there's something under the hood, but don't draw un-wanted attention. Awesome perfor-
mance without all the sound. Mufflers are a direct fit with no modifications necessary.
